The Binding Of Isaac

I really enjoy this game. I've been playing it since the Wrath of the Lamb DLC. With the last expansion out and the plethora of mods that are being made for the game now I thought I'd make a thread for general discussion on the off chance someone is as autistic about this game as I am.

My 2 cents on the Afterbirth Plus DLC: I like it for the most part. I think nerfing the Void item was pretty dumb since overpowered combos are what make the game fun for me at least. I haven't had a chance to get into modding myself and I still need to learn LUA programming to do so but I hope I can find the time to get into it. I have some ideas for mods I'd like to try to make.

 

I play this game but I suck at it.

 

lol everyone sucks at it, I only win one third to one half of my runs.

 

I always either lose to the first boss fight on a run or lose one or two screens into the next area.

 

Whenever I find a bad item in the first treasure room, I usually keep restarting until I find something good. That helped me when I was new to this game.

I'm obssessed with this game and have been for a good few months now, there's just so many damn things to unlock and paths to complete that it's guaranteed to hold ya attention for ages.
That being said, anyone else sick of fighting Monstro? I swear he's in every single run I've ever played.

 

I have the N3DS port, which is kinda shit but the game itself is super fun. I might see if my PC can run it, and failing that, just pirate it for my PSTV or something.

the binding of isaac will run on a 2006-era pentium-based laptop
you will have no difficulties whatsoever running it

One rule - Never get Bob's Brain. EVER. I have never had a build where that hasn't screwed me hard.
....Well unless you have Pyromaniac I suppose but that's a big gamble.

 

Never ever take Isaac's Heart. It is objectively the worst item in the game. It essentially makes your hit box a familiar.

 

Never get the lard, its halves your speed while giving you a heart
The extra health seems tempting, but rule number one in BOI is that Speed > Health

 

It's only -0.2 speed, which is fine if you're moving too fast. I always take it if I fuck up and max out my speed.
