If Chris could go back in time to fix his past, I'm willing to bet anything he would pull a "Butterfly Effect" and, for every one mistake he'd correct, he'd make 5-6 more in it's place, and his life would turn out just as shitty, if not worse.

It's sad, but I feel like you're absolutely correct.

If some person gave Chris the opportunity to go back, Butterfly Effect style, to change things he did for the better, but the caveat was "You're gonna need to put in *some* effort to not fuck things up and make your timeline worse, Chris..."

"Hmmm, yeah, ya know, I think I'm just gonna play with my Legos for a bit."

 

Chris would know how things would go down after 2006 (more or less), but he's also kind of "slow-in-the-mind".

So if he could do a do-over, he might fall for the same "theoretical exes" and tricks all over again.

(If the Novikov self-consistency principle held, any changes he tried to make were part of history all along.)

 

Any attempt to stop Julay simply goes a different course that ensures fuck ups. Any attempts to changing Gameplace incidents simply shows the pettiness of Chris without using the trolls to blame. Chria meeting Classic Chris doesn't lead to the universe imploding. It just leads to Classic getting scared and crapping the briefs as this crazed future self appears.

 

What if Classic Chris really did meet Current Year Chris, and that crapping of the pants is what led Classic Chris to go "tomgirl" - and eventually go "Dimensional Merge" and incesty in the first place?

Indeed. Chris could still find a way to fuck up even if you had white knights and the like try and get involved. Chris still has a way of fucking up and when you remove the trolls, you don't have an innocent austistic individual with mental problems, you also got a virgin sex pest underneath and the like.

It's something I find funny when people on Reddit or Youtube or Twitter want to say how trolls fucked Chris up or how they are more pathetic. Yeah they all can be cows in their own right and the trolling did have a cause but Chris isn't wholly innocent and for all the autism and the like Chris still had run-ins with the law and ways of fucking up friendships.
