Germophobic, chicken-owning ween pays $500 for Chris shit, posts a half-hour unboxing video, earns his rightful place in the halls of Sovngarde as one of the greatest trolls of all time. I only got like halfway through, I think he spends most of the video wiping pages of a binder with disinfectant

Why spend $500 for a staph infection? Surely there are more fiscally and socially acceptable ways to ruin your week.

He's not a ween. His intent is to resell the cards for profit.

Good fucking luck, he'd have to bleach them to make them safe enough to sell

He's looked over the cards and is confident he can turn a profit. They appear to be in good condition.

He should wash them before he sells them to increase their value.

He should take them to a lab for testing, see what traces of feces and semen are caked on.

If he can manage to turn a profit than good for him, Chris got money and nobody can say this dude wasted his money so it’s a win win all around.
This guy sounds like one of those hobby store owners that deals in collectible cards. A friend of mine did the same thing for Magic and this is par for the course. You buy a binder from someone who needs quick money but doesn’t have or want to take the time to research what the value is so you pay them a moderate lump sum, then sell everything piecemeal.
Doing that can usually net you 1.5-2X what you paid for, but it can be higher. This guy thinks 15 out of 50 pages will get his money back.

If he makes his money back, good for him. It seems like the way he's explaining it, he'll make a maximum of around $900 profit from this little venture selling this product in his store. Again, I'm not into this sort of thing, so I don't know much about it, but it seems like spending too much time and effort for too little profit. Yu-Gi-Oh cards and Magic cards I can understand, I go by the mall a lot and there always seems to be a group in the collectibles store buying packs of those cards, but Pokemon? I never (or very rarely) see Pokemon cards for sale at those stores, and I rarely see people buy them when I do. Honestly, I mostly see Pokemon cards and MLP cards in dollar stores as impulse items.

I don't know, I could be reading this completely wrong and he might make back every cent he paid and more in a week or so. But, to me, it seems more likely that he'll sit on these cards for at least a year, slowing selling each card one by one. To me, that just doesn't seem like it would be a worthwhile investment. It sounds like in the long term he's made himself about $10-$20 a week for a while, but in the short-term he's down $500.

He found Chris's Dark Arbok card.

    https://cabalc.wordpress.com/2018/02/11/chris-chans-memory-card-collection/

"As I was going through the Big Binder I found a card has a small star in the top of the sleeve. I looked behind the card and found an interesting surprise. I have never heard of this, but he has at least 15 “memory cards” in his collection. This one commemorates opening a pack on September 11, 2001. I wonder if I will find more of these as I dig deeper."

Shit, cocaine is a great way to ruin your week for $500. Or maybe enhance your week, depending on how much shit you get done.

Welcome to America. Defense contractors have been doing that for years, just with more steps involved that this guy used.

This fiasco proves the literal translation of Pokémon, "stupid American who will buy anything."
