I recently played the PC version of The Force Unleashed for the first time in a while, and it seemed really clunky to me. Plus, there were a whole lot of loading screens.

Fuck me that game is terrible in retrospect. And I fucking loved it as a kid, until Banjo-Kazooie came along.

Fortunately, Banjo-Kazooie is still a perfect game, as far as I'm concerned. Although the sequel isn't as good as I remembered as a kid. You just get bogged down with too much extra stuff. Rare made Banjo Kazooie JUST right, and then for the sequel they decided that we needed MORE stuff to do, and you just end up feeling like you've overeaten after playing it.

Basically every Gameboy game I played. I can't get into any of them now. I looked up lists of the best and most underrated Gameboy games and none of them interested me. (Never got a chance to play Gameboy Color, so I might find some gems there).

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance felt a lot more sluggish than I remembered. Maybe I'm just spoiled with how other SRPGs allows you to adjust animation speed.

Those Godzilla fighting games from the PS2 era are pretty bad. I thought Destroy All Monsters and Save the Earth were the shit as a kid. Save the Earth is better than DAM, but it's still pretty clunky for a fighting game.

everything good about banjo tooie was carried over from bk's development. they were both being made at the same time. 'the lava world'/mt fire eyes got made into hailfire peaks, there was jolly roger lagoon (a good water level holy shit!!!!), grunty industries, mayan temple, the gold mine, and that's all the good stuff.

everything else was just feces on toilet paper. okay the graphics engine was better, but half the time it was rendering utter crap no one needs.

better tech doesn't mean better dev team.

edit; okay some of grunty theme park was good, but the rest? bleeehhh

maybe i'm being harsh. bk did set the bar really really high, and that stuff i listed really was for bk, it just didn't fit into the 16mb cart and christmas rush and you know all that.

I remember playing Brink again after a few years. I see why people hated it. Platforming is terrible, gunplay is boring, character models are just... goofy. Story sucks, and I got bored in like 20 minutes.
Game had potential to be a good shooter, but there's so much wrong it falls apart really fast. I wonder why I liked it in the first place.

It really kills me saying this because of how much I love this franchise, but Twisted Metal 2 has not aged well. It plays incredibly clunky and slow compared to Black, Head-On, and the remake. Out of all the stages, the only one I find real enjoyment playing in is Paris, the others are either bullshit to play in (Amazonia or New York) or were just forgettable. Probably the only thing I find that has aged well is the comic book-style dark humor tone the game goes for. Black was great, but I really wish the game kept the same mood the first 2 games had, without going overboard like 3 and 4 did; it's really why I loved Head-On so much.

It sucks the remake bombed as hard as it did, it was such an awesome game. It'd be a miracle just seeing a new Twisted Metal game at this point.

Bubsy 3D. Thought it was decent as a kid but looking at videos of it once YouTube became a thing and I now wonder beyond being a kid in how the fresh hell I thought it was good.

Dragon Warrior 1-3. Did I really love grinding this much when I was 11-15?

Mega Man 2. It's still a great game, but man half the weapons are garbage and Metal Blade is OP. MM3, MM4, and MM9 have vastly better balance while still being just as fun in other regards.

Sonic the Hedgehog GameGear games. Chaos and Triple Trouble are decent (nowhere within leagues of the Genesis trilogy but still above average platformers for handhelds of the era) but the others are such jank.

Castlevania II was my favorite game in the series and one of my favorite games overall as a kid. It's still my second- or third-favorite of the ones I've actually played.

I actually have a lot of these...

Aw I really like Banjo Tooie. I feel like they fixed everything wrong with BK and made it a lot more interesting and complex. I got way more invested in it and found it a lot more memorable and less empty feeling.

But then again, I'm an extremely ADD person and I love being over stimulated.

I can't get into animal crossing now like I did as a kid. Just feels like a weird waste of time, whereas as a child it was super fun and interesting. But I feel like that's more of a mindset than the game's fault.

Megaman X7 and X8. I remember loving those games as a kid, but fuck they're pretty awful games. Fantastic examples of how not to adapt a 2D series into 3D.

Every Genesis Sonic game (all easy and simplistic). Donkey Kong 64 (super easy, and pretty boring), and the Game Boy Pokemon games (shallow plot, very easy mechanics, repetitive, basically just an entry-level RPG game).

Other than that can't think too many off the top of my head.

Shit, was it? I haven't touched it in awhile, admittedly, so I was talking out my ass there. Don't remember it being particularly good, though, last time I played it.

Well my favorite Let's Player considers it to be the third-best Mega Man X, and it certainly looks quite fun from what I've seen if you main Zero or Axl instead of insisting on playing the titular X, but I've never played it. X7 is transparently bad even without a controller in your hands to experience it personally.
