Fun fact: I love fighting games. Tekken, Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, Killer Instinct, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, BlazBlue... even that weird Persona fighting game. I play 'em all.

Funner fact: With the exception of Tekken and Soul Calibur, I tend to be pretty terrible at them.

So here we shout out to our favorite games, favorite characters, worst games, worst characters... whatever.

Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl. All items, all characters, all stages. Tournament rules are for pansies who can't handle variable situations.

My favorite arcade fighting game would be Super SF2 (the new challengers). I really liked all the different color choices for each character. The stages were more vibrant and colorful and had more going on in the background. Plus you had like "super" attacks (eg Ryu and the fire hadouken). Many quarters spent!

I grew up playing SNK fighters more than Capcom, so I leaned more toward World Heroes, Art of Fighting, and Fatal Fury. My fave of those is Real Bout Special. Even that PS1 port, Dominated Mind.

Right now though I'm rocking King of Fighters 14 and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.

I'm super bad at them, but I still like them.

Darkstalkers is pretty cool. I'm a sucker for anything horror/monster related.

I'm a fairly recent Tekken convert - looking forward to 7's rumoured cross-compatibility so I can beat my friend the only reliable way I know: Maining Alisa and ranged spamming.

Dead or Alive is one of my favorites. Ayane and Kasumi are my favorite characters.

I have a very unhealthy obsession with fighting games. Practically will play any game. SFV, KOFXIV, and GG Revelator are the main three that I play on my PS4. Can't wait for Tekken 7.

Hard to say what game would be my favorite, there are so many candidates like Street Fighter 3, Real Bout Special, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, KOF2002UM, etc.

I have dedicated so much of my time to find and play roms for obscure as hell fighters like Rage of the Dragons, Waku Waku 7, Matrimelee. There are plenty of hidden gems people don't have never seen.

If anyone is up for matches in Fightcade, just tell me. I mainly play Jojo and SF3 but I'm up for anything else.

As a casual fighting game fan, I'm looking forward to Injustice 2.

I'm looking forward to it as well. Netherrealm has really upped their game (no pun intended) in regards to quality and also one of the few companies that actually takes the time and effort to make a story for their game (*cough* Capcom *cough*)

However, after Mortal Kombat 9, 10, and the previous Injustice game, I full expect them to keep at least 4-6 character locked behind a season pass. So I'm interested in playing the game, but probably won't get around to it until NetherRealm releases Utlimate Injustice 2: GOTY Edition sometime either at the end of the year, or early 2018. Which yeah, sucks.

Signed up a while ago for the Injustice 2 beta. Seems like I'm still not even in the 3rd wave. I just hope I get a chance to play it at some point

According to fightersgeneration, there's going to be an "ultimate" edition with nine extra DLC characters and other stuff. For $99. Fuck that.

As far as my personal taste goes, I mostly enjoy 90s SNK and Capcom stuff, every now and then I'll get on Fightcade and watch others' matches. Also got a soft spot for Mortal Kombat, still remember seeing Sub-Zero's head rip for the first time in the arcade.

See, and that's very close to what they did with Mortal Kombat X.
Remember, the original game was the usual $60
Then if you didn't pre-order, you'd have to shell out an extra $5 to play as Goro.
THEN they had the Kombat pack, which ran around $30 initially, which gave you access to play as Tanya, Tremor, Jason Voorhes, and the Predator.
THEN that had the second Kombat Pack, another $20, which gave you Leatherface, the Xenomorph, Bo Rai Cho (for some reason), and Triborg.

So if you were a Day One purchaser, to get all the content, you would be paying nearly $115 in total. If you pre-ordered, you got Goro for free so there you go- only $110. What a fucking bargain.

OR... you could have just waited a year and gotten the XL edition for $60.... or $30-$40 bucks if you waited another 5-6 months until the holiday sales. With that, you got all the characters, plus all the extraneous Kombat skins and other DLC people paid actual money for.

So tl;dr - if you REALLY liked Injustice and you REALLY like NetherRealm Studios, then by all means get it when it drops. Your money, your choices. You am Big Growed Up Peoples now. Just keep in mind, 95% guarantee, you are gonna be milked.

.....Okay, enough bitching about my own bad pre-ordering decisions (guess who pre-ordered MKX back in the day...)

Would WWE games count as fighting games? The price on Steam for the Digital Deluxe version is $63, but it balances it out with 169 total playable characters and a very extensive create-a-whatever feature.

Any of you guys follow EVO at all? The charity drive to vote what the ninth game in the line up will be is ending in the next few days and it looks like MvC3 is gonna beat out Pokken.

Also Smash is a fighting game.

I like to watch fighting games... but I absolutely completely suck at them. I can only mash buttons if I ever try.

But I like the aesthetics of 90s fighting games. Beautiful.

I've always believed that with many things, fighting games included, you can be complete ass at it while still knowing what you're talking about kinda like me acting like I'm hot shit for understanding frame data and tier lists when I'm only Super Silver in SFV

Besides, you don't need to play fighting games to know how hype this is
