    Da-Ta-da-Daaaaaaa! Ford's VP was Nelson Rockefeller and he was selected by Ford as his VP. Per the 25th Amendment, if the VP steps into the Presidency he has the right to appoint any VP he chooses to and they are then confirmed by a majority vote of both houses. There's a lot more subtly to the whole thing, but I don't want to jack the thread into a Civics lesson or debate.

    On the contrary, the Sonic Totem would probably be the best VP and would make a fantastic advisor. It has a vast arsenal of worldly knowledge accumulated over years of suffering and observation. It's looked into the abyss and survived.
